The Alexander McQueen Scholarship is worth £22,500 and is available to one Home/EU student accepted on the MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
Alexander McQueen, one of Britain’s most successful designers, enrolled at Central Saint Martins, and received his MA in Fashion Design in 1992. The collection he produced as the culminating project of his degree was famously bought in its entirety. He earned the British Fashion Council’s British Designer of the Year award four times, and was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire. His bold styles and fascinating shows inspired and wowed the world of fashion, and his legacy lives on.
The award will cover full tuition fees, with a contribution towards living costs and the final collection.
Applications are encouraged from Home/ EU students only who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential and who are unable to finance themselves through their studies.

The assessment procedure for applications
Your application will be initially assessed by University of the Arts London Student Funding Section based on the financial information supplied in your application and ranked according to financial need. Further evidence may be requested at a later date. Applications will be short listed by a panel of academics and then forwarded onto the interview panel which will include a representative from Alexander McQueen and the MA Fashion course director. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview at Central Saint Martins. Applicants will be required to bring their portfolio and examples of their work to the interview. Students shortlisted for interviews will be contacted by UAL shortly after the application deadline. Terms of the Alexander McQueen Scholarship The scholarship will cover full course fees for one Home/EU student. Tuition fees will be paid directly from the award to the University’s Tuition Fees account. The award will cover tuition fees for the two year MA Fashion Course at Central Saint Martins with a contribution towards living costs. Applicants must enrol on the MA course in the same academic year for which they have applied for funding. If any applicant is unable to do this for any reason, the scholarship will be withdrawn. The Alexander McQueen Scholarship holder is expected to attend all timetabled classes and tutorials, excepting periods of absence due to illness. Attendance will be monitored, and any student with an unacceptable attendance record may risk the termination of their Scholarship. The College will terminate the award if registration lapses on any grounds, other than temporary suspension of study due to extenuating circumstances, which must be drawn to the attention of the relevant course director at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design through formal procedures, and upheld by the Central Saint Martins Extenuating Circumstances Panel. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend a small number of College and University events promoting scholarships support to potential donors, and to meet with scholarship supporters at these events, during and wherever convenient after completing their course.
Applying for the Alexander McQueen Scholarship Applications must be made online. You will need to fill in an online application. In addition to the online application form, you will need to send the following supplementary material:
1. An electronic portfolio sent via dropbox to firstname.lastname@example.org containing 1 PDF document which must include:
• title page with your name and course title
• introductory page of no more than 500 words explaining your work
• 15 images or less with each image clearly labelled showing the

• Size of original work Your portfolio should be an example of what you consider to be your best work for the Selection Panel to review.
Closing Date All applications must be received by 1pm, Friday 31st July 2015. There is only one closing date for all applications each year. We are unable to accept applications that arrive late. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
