Call for applicants for three (3) four-year and three (3) two-year doctoral student positions in the fields of accounting, economics, finance, international business, management and marketing

The Oulu Business School Doctoral Programme (OBS-DP) offers you a doctoral degree from our internationally recognized and accredited business school. The OBS-DP covers all six disciplines represented in the School’s curriculum: accounting, economics, finance, international business, management and marketing. All these traditional business school subjects study different aspects of the economy. The OBS-DP trains students to conduct high quality international level research, and prepares them for challenging jobs both inside and outside of academia. Oulu Business School Doctoral Programme (OBS-DP) invites applications for three four-year doctoral student positions and three two-year positions. All positions will start January 1st, 2016. The positions are targeted for students working full-time on their doctoral training. The maximum funding period is until the end of 2019 (max. 48 months). See the General Call Text for information concerning the employment terms and minimum requirements for the positions.

The selection of students for the positions will be based on the feasibility and scientific merit (including originality and the potential for contribution to the advancement of knowledge) of their research proposal, and on the applicant’s academic/professional qualifications, as demonstrated in the quality of their previous academic studies and, when relevant, in their past career experience.

The evaluation and ranking of the applications will be carried out by selection committee. Based on the ranking of the applications, potential candidates may be invited for an interview. The OBS-DP Management Group will make the final selection of candidates to be awarded the OBS-DP doctoral student positions. Selected applicants will be informed of the results by e-mail.

All applications must include:

A completed online “Application Form” (see below);
The following documents must be attached to the online “Application Form” as single Portable Document Format (PDF) attachments (i.e. compiled into a total of 3 separate documents). Each attachment will have the following respective file names: OBS-YourName-CV; OBS-YourName-Diplomas; OBS-YourName-Plan.

Replace “YourName” with your own last name (as in your passport).

Warning: Incorrectly named attachments may not be processed correctly.

CV:   Curriculum Vitae of the applicant, including a description of previous studies and past career experience and a list (with full reference details) of any peer-reviewed scientific publications. (Max. size limit of the attachment: 5 pages, 5 Mbytes).
Certificates/Diplomas:        Scanned electronic copies of diplomas and transcripts of the records of relevant previous degrees and, if applicable, a valid certificate of language proficiency (see the General Call Text). If the original documents are not in English, Finnish or Swedish, each document must be accompanied by an official certified translation into English or Finnish. (Max. size limit of the attachment: 2 Mbytes).
Research plan:         containing at least sections on the relevant prior literature of the research topic, the intended contribution of the planned research, and methods to be applied. (Max.: 10 pages, 2 Mbytes).
