Research Grants For Singaporean Students

Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) is offering research grants for Singaporean students. Grants are available for pursuing doctoral studies at a local or overseas university.

This award aims to assist high achieving and highly motivated international research scholars at local or overseas university.

The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) is at the forefront of building capabilities and continuing professional development for an effective, innovative and responsive Continuing Education and Training (CET) sector.

Applicant must have at least five years of related work experience up to enrolment into the doctoral programme. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Course Level: Grants are available for pursuing doctoral studies at a local or overseas university.

Study Subject: Grants are awarded for research related to Singapore’s Continuing Education and Training (CET) sector.

Scholarship Award: Grant awards each valued at up to $100,000 will be offered to outstanding candidates already enrolled in a doctoral programme at a local or overseas university. The Grant is intended to support the candidate during the research and thesis writing phase of the programme, for duration of up to 3 years.

Scholarship can be taken at: Singapore or Overseas

Eligibility:
Applicant must be a Singapore Citizen;
-Applicant must be already accepted into a Doctoral Programme and be enrolled as a doctoral candidate (i.e. successfully obtained university’s approval of doctoral thesis);
-Applicant must have at least five years of related work experience up to enrolment into the Doctoral programme;
-Applicant’s approved research thesis must be relevant to the Singapore context of workforce development or Continuous Education and Training (CET).

Nationality: Applicants of Singapore can apply for the scholarship.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicant must have at least five years of related work experience up to enrolment into the doctoral programme.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
