The Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC) is pleased to offer non-EEA Scholarship of Excellence for the year 2016. Non-EEA students are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.

The university main objective is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of the students.

This scholarship partially waives the institute tuition fee for selected students from non-EEA countries who meet all the requirements to qualify for the statutory tuition fee except for having a non-EEA nationality and whose grades in their previous programmes are considered excellent.

Applicants must have proven minimum proficiency in at least three languages upon admission to the programme (entry) and upon graduation for the CEMS-MiM diploma (exit). These three languages are: English; CEMS language; third language. The level of mastery of each of these languages differs, and may also differ between entry and exit, as the exit requirements in some cases are higher.

Course Level: Scholarship is awarded for pursuing Bachelor and Master programmes.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to learn any of the courses offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship takes the form of a waiver being the amount of money that will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee. For the scholarship, no actual transmission of money takes place. The scholarship part is 50% of the non-EEA tuition fee and will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee before the start of the academic year, enabling the beholder to immediately pay the reduced tuition fee; either at once or in installments.  The student has to pay 50% of the institute tuition fee.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this Scholarship:-
Application for the scholarship is open for prospective and current students of our international Bachelor and Master programmes, studying at ESHCC in the academic year 2016/2017, from all non-EEA countries, provided they would be charged the non-EEA tuition fee, which is a higher fee.
Excellence
-Excellence is proven if the GPA achieved during the previous education is at least the equivalent of the Dutch grade of 8.0 on the Dutch grading scale 1 – 10.
-We consider the GPA achieved during previous education as:
-A prospective Bachelor student: The GPA of last two years of secondary school or the GPA of the final exam
-A current Bachelor student at the EUR: The GPA of the preceding year in the Bachelor (when in doubt about your calculation, please contact the Student Advisor)
-A prospective Master student: The GPA of the complete Bachelor programme
-A current Research Master student: The GPA of the preceding year in the Master (when in doubt about your calculation, please contact the Student Advisor)
-The applicant will have to provide an explanation of the local grading system, taken from the official website of the national Ministry of Education, which will be used alongside the grade information included in the country modules of NUFFIC.

Nationality: Non-EEA students are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Excellence is proven if the GPA achieved during the previous education is at least the equivalent of the Dutch grade of 8.0 on the Dutch grading scale 1 – 10.

Test  Requirements: If applicants study program or course is taught in English, they will be required to prove their level of command of English by presenting the results they receive in the following tests:
-TOEFL, with a score of at least 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79-80 (Internet-based).
-IELTS, with a score of at least 6.
-Other tests may also be accepted. Therefore, they should check with their university if the certificates they have are also accepted.

Supporting Material: Note that applying for the scholarship is a separate procedure from your admission process. Please do NOT apply for the scholarship in your motivation letter for the programme of your choice, but follow this procedure!
A. Register for the programme of your choice first, and obtain a student number.
Applications can only be taken into consideration if the applicant is registered for or applied for one of ESHCC’s Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes. Furthermore, the scholarship application will only be considered if you are admitted to the programme of your choice.
B. Prepare digital copies of the following documents:
-An explanation why you would deserve and why you would need a scholarship, comprising a description of academic excellence and, if applicable, other merits.
-This explanation should be between 250-750 words.
-Certified copies of the grade list to date, as available at the moment of application (prospective students) / Progress overviews from OSIRIS, including the GPA (current students).
-If already offered, admission statement of the programme (prospective students) / proof of enrollment at EUR for the current academic year (current students).
-If applicable, an explanation of the local grading system, taken from the official website of the national Ministry of Education.
