MEDRC is pleased to offer Water Research Fellowship Program to undertake postgraduate study. Applicants from Palestine or Jordan are eligible to apply.
The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from Palestine or Jordan.
The main objective of the MEDRC is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of the students.
Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree in a related subject or have equivalent work experience in a related sector.
Course Level: Fellowship is available to undertake postgraduate study in eligible master’s degree programs at universities in Jordan, the West Bank and Gaza.
Study Subject: MEDRC offers fellowships focused on water management, reuse and desalination.
List of Subjects: For Palestinian Applicants the following areas of research are particular encouraged to apply for the Fellowship Program: Pollution and Health (West Bank); Water diseases and chlorination impact and removal of cause (in Gaza); Development of technologies for water desalination in addition to link between renewable energy and desalination like using solar distiller; Multi-phases studies for implementing the recommended technologies.
Scholarship Award: Successful candidates receive a partial contribution towards tuition fees, living expenses and research costs. The total award will be between 3000-6500 US$. The award will be paid in three installments against the following deliverables:
-Signed Fellowship Agreement returned to MEDRC;
-Endorsed mid-term progress report;
-Endorsed final thesis.
Endorsement will be issued by the thesis supervisor and the Palestinian Water Authority or the Ministry for Water and Irrigation, Jordan.

Eligibility: In order to apply for scholarship, applicants must follow the given criteria:
-Applicant must be a resident national of Palestine or Jordan.
Applicants are expected to have:
-an unconditional offer for, or be enrolled on, a relevant full time course at a Participating University;
-completed an undergraduate degree in a related subject or have equivalent work experience in a related sector;
-A clear thesis proposal, which addresses an immediate need or specific problem as identified by the water authorities in Jordan or Palestine related to water management, desalination or water reuse.
-The candidate’s ability to have a significant, positive impact on water management, desalination or water reuse issues in the MENA region during their career will also form part of the competitive selection process.
Nationality: Applicants from Palestine or Jordan are eligible to apply.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree in a related subject or have equivalent work experience in a related sector.

English Language Requirement: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
