2016 University of Ljubljana Computer and Information Science Faculty Scholarship For Women, Slovenia

The Faculty of Computer and Information Science and Comtrade are awarding scholarship for full-time masters study at the University of Ljubljana. These scholarships are open to foreign female citizens from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia.

The principal mission of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science at University of Ljubljana is to educate computer experts of various profiles.

It is the leading teaching and research institution in the field of Computer Science in Slovenia, and in spite of its comparatively short history it has a number of active research groups, as well as a lengthy roster of alumni, some of whom have achieved distinction in various fields of computer science in Slovenia and abroad.

The official language is Slovene, but there are eight courses lectured in English. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing masters programme.

Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded within the Faculty of Computer and Information Science.

Scholarship Award: The accepted candidate will be granted a scholarship in the amount of 420 euro per month for two consecutive years paid by Comtrade.

Eligibility: The following candidates may apply for admission to the master’s programme in Computer and Information Science:
-graduates of 1st cycle bachelor degree study programmes of computer or information science or study programmes related to the natural or technical sciences (mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, chemistry and chemical technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering);
-graduates of 1st cycle bachelor degree study programmes from fields other than those indicated above, who have completed the following requirements from the 1st cycle bachelor study programme Computer and Information Science prior to enrolment or have covered the subject matter of these subjects during their Bachelor degree studies: Introduction to Programming, Discrete Structures, Introduction to Digital Circuits, Computer Systems Architecture, Introduction to Information Systems.

Nationality: Female foreign citizens from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and FYR Macedonia are eligible to apply.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have completed bachelor degree  programme.

Test Requirement: No

Supporting Material: Candidates are required to submit the following documents along with the recognition application:
-The original of the certificate or diploma to be recognised and to establish the right to the access, application and treatment in the enrolment procedures,
-A photocopy of the document(s) referred to in the first Indent,
-A certified Slovenian translation of the document(s) referred to in the first Indent,
-Annual report cards, transcripts or any other certificate(s) of the content and duration of education,
-A short chronological description of the entire education process prepared by the candidate.

How to Apply: The enrolment application for studying at public and private higher education institutions in Slovenia (faculties, professional colleges, academies) must be submitted online via the eVŠ web portal for all undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes. Candidates can submit their applications for the study programme in two ways:
-With a qualified digital certificate – candidates should not send the printed form by post, but submit the application form for registering in the eVŠ by the application deadline. Only the required accompanying documents should be sent to FRI via registered mail.
-Without a qualified digital certificate (with a user name and password) – candidates should send the enrolment form electronically to the eVŠ, print it out, sign it and then send it by the application deadline by post to FRI, enclosed with the required documents as stated in the Call for Applications.
