USAID is awarding Higher Education Initiative (HEI)-Public University Scholarships for Egyptian Students. These scholarships are available to high school graduates to attend excellence programs at Egyptian public universities.
The Public University Scholarships is one of the U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative components. The program awards scholarships to more than 100 Thanaweyya Amma graduates each year for three years (high school graduates in 2015, 2016, and 2017) to study in the excellence sections in one of the top public universities in Egypt: Cairo, Ain Shams, Alexandria, Mansoura and Assuit.
The U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative is an investment in Egypt’s future that provides educational opportunities for high-achieving Egyptians to acquire skills that will better meet the needs of the 21st century economy.
The candidate should have a very good command of the English language.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for high school graduates to attend excellence programs at Egyptian public universities.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in fields that will help students reach their aspirations and contribute to Egypt’s economic prosperity.
List of Subjects: Faculties of Engineering, Education, Information Technology, Science, Agriculture, Law, Commerce, Nursing, Mass Communication, and Economics
Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers:
-Tuition fees and ongoing academic support
-Housing and Meals for on-campus students
-Intensive English course and study skills program
-Leadership, character building, and business development training
-Mentoring and networking activities
-Internship and summer training in the field of study
-Summer community development project
-Semester or summer abroad for selected students
-Job search and placement support after graduation

Eligibility: In order to apply for scholarship, applicants must follow the given criteria:
-Egyptian young men and women enrolled in Thanaweyya Amma in government schools including STEM schools.
-Student achievers in their first and second secondary results.
-Participated in community activities.
-Includes scholarships specifically for disabled applicants.
Nationality: Egyptian Thanweyya Amma graduates can apply for these scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Egyptian young men and women enrolled in Thanaweyya Amma in government schools including STEM schools can apply.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirement: The candidate should have a very good command of the English language.
Supporting Material: Before starting application, applicant need to make sure that you have the following documents ready to attach:
-Certificates of 1st and 2nd secondary school years
-Student record issued from school student affairs in case of warnings or suspension.
-Brief of extra-curricular activities
-Parents’ financial statement (Bank statement-Electricity bill)
-Parental consent letter
