The Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society is pleased to offer internships in Germany for a start in September 2016. The centre gives applicants the chance to work in a very international setting and gain insight into a wealth of projects within the environmental humanities. This is a paid internship programme. A stipend as well as assistance with travels expenses for those interns who do not already reside in Munich will be provided for the duration of 3 months. Application deadline is 30 June 2016.

Field of Internship: The centre gives applicants the chance to work in a very international setting and gain insight into a wealth of projects within the environmental humanities. The RCC is a joint project of the LMU and the Deutsches Museum. An internship provides students with the opportunity to gain experience in working in an academic institution, as well as gaining valuable skills in the following fields:

  • Organizing conferences and events.
  • Researching for our digital portal.
  • Working on our publications.
  • Writing conference reports.
  • Editing videos.
  • Coordinating our social media presence.
    General office duties.

Eligibility: The successful candidate will speak and write English fluently; she/he will also have a demonstrated interest (relevant course work/degree/seminar papers) in environmental humanities or sciences.

Internship Open for International Students: German applicants are eligible to apply for this internship programme.

How to Apply: The centre working language is English; therefore all applications must be in English.

• Include their availability (when can interns do it, how many hours per week).
• Statement of interest; no longer than 5,000 characters including spaces. It should include their motivation and highlight any special skills.
• CV (no longer than 3,000 characters including spaces).
• References: names and addresses from two professors/supervisors, etc. willing to be called on to give a personal reference.

Internship Application Deadline: Application deadline is 30 June 2016 for a start in September 2016. The Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society do not offer internships in August. However, they are constantly offering internships throughout the year, so feel free to apply but add their availability.
