Applications are invited for Academy Robert Bosch Fellowship for the applicants from Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland or Romania. The fellow will spend six months working at Chatham House with the Africa programme team and three months hosted by the South African Institute of International Affairs.
The purpose of the Academy fellowship is to provide the next generation of scholars and young leaders who are citizens of Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland or Romania with the opportunity to conduct their own research project, speak at events, expand his or her personal networks, and further develop an understanding of critical issues in international affairs, as a Fellow of the Queen Elizabeth II Academy.
Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, is an independent policy institute based in London. The mission is to help build a sustainably secure, prosperous and just world.
In order to be eligible applicants must have excellent English writing and presentation skills.
Course Level: Fellowship is available for undertaking research programme.
Study Subject: Research projects should be designed by the applicants. However, they should bear in mind what would also be relevant to an international policy institute. Their project should fall under the category of ‘Political and economic development in post-socialist Europe and Africa: Shared learning from transition and reform’.
Scholarship Award: Chatham House will provide Fellows with a monthly stipend of approximately £2,600 for the duration of the fellowship (this is intended to cover costs such as accommodation, food, travel in London etc.). To assist Fellows in relocating from their home country to London for the term of the fellowship, the institute will cover one return, economy class trip to the UK and accommodation in a hotel on arrival (if required). The institute will also provide a small budget for fieldwork and research-related travel during the fellowship. Chatham House will provide assistance but Fellows will be responsible for securing accommodation, health insurance, and making the necessary banking arrangements.
