The Department of Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry, Stockholm University, Sweden offers postdoctoral research fellowship in Climate Modelling.
The overarching goal of this project is to entangle how anthropogenic emissions of Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCP), aerosols (including sulphate, black carbon and organic carbon), methane and other ozone-forming pollutants from different regions of the world affect the global climate and specifically the Arctic.
The main task will be to investigate and if possible quantify the main processes determining the Arctic climate change. The modelling will be mainly be done with the Earth System Model NorESM in close collaboration with senior scientists at the department but also at the Department of Meteorology, Stockholm University, and the Norwegian Institute of Meteorology, Oslo.
Course Level: Fellowship is available for the postdoctoral programme.
Study Subject: Climate Modelling
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
Terms of employment :
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of two years. The anticipated starting date is September 1, 2016, or as per agreement.
