UK: Strathclyde Business School’s Department of Management Science Scholarships 2016

Strathclyde Business School’s Department of Management Science is offering up to four scholarships to study MSc Operational Research and MSc Business Analysis and Consulting. These scholarships are open to Scottish and EU students only, and each of these scholarships will be worth £9500, covering the full tuition fee.

The Strathclyde Business School aspires to be independent both academically and financially, elevated in the different aspects of knowledge and to link the programs and research it offers with the requirements of permanent development in the UK.

The University provides modern educational and research environments that will enable students and researchers to face current challenges and to focus on knowledge as a principle driving force for development.

Current standard requirements are IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5).

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing full-time MSc programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Management science, Business, Accounting and finance, Strategy and organisation, Mathematics and statistics.

Scholarship Award: Each of these scholarships will be worth £9500, covering the full tuition fee.

Eligibility: In order to apply for scholarship, applicants must follow the given criteria

  • Applicants are expected to have (or near completion of) an Upper Second Class Honours (undergraduate) degree or equivalent (a minimum 3.2 GPA in a 4.0 GPA system, or a minimum 85% average, or a minimum average of B+ in a letter system). Final year undergraduate students are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates interested in applying for these prestigious scholarships are required to provide a brief statement (up to 300 words) in their online applications which should clearly articulate their interest in the growing area of data science and analytics and their reasons for applying for the scholarship.
  • Applicants must have an offer of a place on the MSc Operation Research or MSc Business Analysis and Consulting programmes.

Nationality: Scholarships are open to Scottish and EU students only.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants are expected to have (or near completion of) an Upper Second Class Honours (undergraduate) degree or equivalent (a minimum 3.2 GPA in a 4.0 GPA system, or a minimum 85% average, or a minimum average of B+ in a letter system).

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirement: The University accepts a number of English language tests as proof of proficiency in English. IELTS is the most widely available, and our current standard requirements are: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5).

How to Apply: Applicants need to complete an online application. As a minimum, applicants are required to upload good quality scans of the following original documents:

  • All transcripts (completed or ongoing) and completed degree certificates
  • English test results (if relevant)
  • Photo/bio page of passport (or national ID card if student is from EU)
  • Reference letters

In addition to these, students are also advised to upload their statement of purpose. The student might also upload other supporting documents (such as CV, any prizes/scholarships they won) if they are relevant to their application. Please note that uploading too many supporting documents can slow down the process of their application.
