40 LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships in USA, 2017

The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) offers 40 scholarships for undergraduate and graduate degrees in 2017 for U.S. citizen or permanent residents. Students must be attending four-year accredited institutions in the U.S. and majoring in the fields of advertising, marketing or public relations.

Twenty undergraduate ethnically diverse minority undergraduate students will receive scholarships of $2,500 each and twenty graduate students will receive scholarships of $5,000 each.

The LAGRANT Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to increase the number of ethnic minorities in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations by providing scholarships, career & professional development workshops, mentors and internships to African American/Black, Alaska Native/Native American, Asian American/Pacific Islander and Hispanic/Latino undergraduate and graduate students.

Course Level: TLF accepts applications from undergraduate students (current freshmen, sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors only) and graduate students.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to students must be attending four-year accredited institutions in the U.S. and majoring in the fields of advertising, marketing or public relations.

Worth of Award

The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) will award 40 scholarships in 2017. Of the 40, 20 undergraduate ethnically diverse minority undergraduate students will receive scholarships of $2,500 each and 20 graduate students will receive scholarships of $5,000 each

Eligibility

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for these scholarships:

Undergraduate Scholarships:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African-American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/Alaska Native
  • Must be a full-time student at a four-year, accredited institution within the U.S., carrying a total of 12 units or more per semester/quarter
  • *Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA (if you do not meet this requirement, please see the application checklist below)
  • Must major in a field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations
  • Must have at least one year to complete his/her degree from the time the scholarships are awarded in May 2017
  • Recipients MUST be available to participate in the scholarship activities from May 21-23, 2017. If chosen, the applicant MUST attend TLF’s scholarship activities as noted at top of page to receive professional guidance and academic support
  • If chosen, the applicant MUST attend TLF’s scholarship activities to receive the scholarship. The applicant must make a one-year commitment to maintain contact with TLF to receive professional guidance and academic support

Graduate Scholarships:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African-American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/Alaska Native
  • Must be a full-time student at a four-year, accredited institution within the U.S., carrying a total of 12 units or more per semester/quarter
  • *Must have a minimum of 3.2 GPA (if you do not meet this requirement, please see the application checklist below)
  • MUST major in a field of study that has an emphasis in advertising, marketing or public relations
  • Must have a Minimum of Two Academic Semesters Or One-Year left to complete his/her Master’s degree from the time the scholarship is awarded in May 2017
  • If chosen, the applicant MUST attend TLF’s scholarship activities to receive the scholarship. The applicant must make a one-year commitment to maintain contact with TLF to receive professional guidance and academic support.

Application checklist for Undergraduate Scholarships

  • Undergraduate scholarship application(MS Word) or Undergraduate Scholarship Application (PDF)
  • Application must be typed or it will not be accepted
  • A reference letter from a college professor or internship advisor
  • Your current resume
  • Unofficial transcripts from your college/university. If you are selected as a finalist, you must provide official transcripts.
  • Headshot photo of applicant
  • Application form, which includes all of the following components. The following essay questions should be answered on separate pages:
  • A one to two-page essay outlining your career goals and what steps you will take to increase the lack of ethnic representation in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations. In addition, you must define the role of an advertising, marketing or public relations practitioner (as it relates to your career goals). You can include accomplishments relevant to increasing awareness about diversity in your community.
  • A brief paragraph explaining college and/or community activities in which you are involved in
  • A brief paragraph describing any honours and awards that you have received
  • *Optional: If you do not think your GPA accurately reflects your scholastic capability and achievement, then draft an essay no longer than one-page explaining the discrepancy
  • *An acceptance letter from your college/university may be used as a substitute for unofficial transcripts if you are an incoming freshman for the fall

Application checklist for Graduate Scholarships:

  • Completed Graduate Application Form (MS Word) or Graduate Application Form (PDF)
  • Application must be typed or it will not be accepted
  • A reference letters from a college professor or an internship adviser
  • Your current resume
  • Unofficial transcripts from your college/university. If you are selected as a finalist, you must provide official transcripts. An acceptance letter from your college/university may be used as a substitute for unofficial transcripts if you are beginning your program in fall of 2017
  • Headshot photo of applicant
