ACI Foundation Graduate Scholarships for International Students Worldwide, 2017/2018

ACI Foundation has invited applications for graduate scholarship to study at an accredited college or university in an engineering, architecture, or materials science program. Applications will be accepted from anywhere in the world but the graduate program must be ABET-accredited or a mutually recognized program by ABET. Applicants must be full-time first- or second-year (after bachelor’s degree) graduate students during the entire scholarship year. Each graduate scholarship except Stewart C, Watson Memorial Scholarship Award is valued at $3000 for a period of one year.

Level: Graduate Study at an accredited college or university.

Field(s): an engineering, architecture, or materials science program. The graduate study program shall be in the area of concrete with an emphasis on structural design, materials, construction, or any combination thereof. Applicants for the Kumar Mehta Scholarship must be pursuing graduate research in sustainable concrete. The graduate program must be ABET-accredited or a mutually recognized program by ABET.

Scholarship Duration: Scholarship will be awarded to students for a period of one year.

Scholarship covers: Each graduate scholarship except Stewart C, Watson Memorial Scholarship Award is valued at $3000 each. Stewart C, Watson Memorial Scholarship Award consists of a cash stipend of $5000. Scholarships may be partially funded through multiple donations, or entirely by a single donation.

Eligibility

 

‣ At the time of receiving  ACI Foundation Graduate Scholarships (not necessarily at the time of application), the applicant shall possess a bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher education which is accredited by the responsible regional or national agency.

‣ At the time of acceptance of an ACI Foundation Scholarship (not necessarily at the time of application), the applicant shall have been accepted for graduate study at an accredited college or university in an engineering, architecture, or materials science program.

‣ The graduate study program shall be in the area of concrete with an emphasis on structural design, materials, construction, or any combination thereof.

‣ Applicants for the Kumar Mehta Scholarship must be pursuing graduate research in sustainable concrete.

‣ Applicants must be full-time first- or second-year (after bachelor’s degree) graduate students during the entire scholarship year.

‣ Course work during a summer session will count toward the degree year.

‣ Applications will be accepted from anywhere in the world but the graduate program must be ABET-accredited or a mutually recognized program by ABET.

Selection Criteria for ACI Foundation Graduate Scholarships

‣ Those candidates are selected who appear to have the strongest combination of interest and potential for professional success in the concrete industry.

‣ ACI scholarships are awarded to the brightest and best students studying concrete.

‣ Applicants chosen to receive awards will be notified by e-mail shortly after the selection process takes place at the ACI Spring Convention.
