This is a New Zealand National Science Challenge Seeding project. It aims to develop a stretchable polymer that self-heals if cracked. The self healable polymer is then used as a binder in high-capacity anode. The project will offer a PhD scholarship, worth $27k stipend + tuition fees p.a. for three years. The student is expected to have experience in polymer synthesis. Ideally he or she has good knowledge of electrochemistry or battery.
